What is a bikepacking event?
A bikepacking event is a multi-day cycling adventure where riders carry their own gear in frame bags. Events can be racing (Tour Divide, Three Peaks Bike Race) or social rallies.
Do I need a special bike?
Any sturdy bike with mounts for bags works. Gravel bikes, hardtail mountain bikes, and even touring bikes are all popular choices.
How long are bikepacking events?
From 2-day weekend rallies (~200 km) to 5,500 km transcontinental races. Most weekend events sit between 250 and 600 km.
