Green Border Gravel is a 400-kilometer self-supported gravel adventure through south-eastern Slovenia and along the borderlands shared with Croatia. Starting and finishing at the Olympic Center Novo Mesto, the route completes a loop featuring roughly 7,000 meters of elevation gain across a three-day window.

The course consists of more than 70 percent unpaved terrain, primarily made up of forest roads and compact gravel alongside occasional rougher stretches. Because the event operates under self-supported rules, participants may only make use of commercially and publicly available services, including local shops, cafés, accommodations, and public water points. Outside assistance from private support crews or friends is prohibited.

Registration is capped at 150 riders. Entry includes a rider pack, GPX route data and tracking, luggage storage during the event (covering one small bag and one folded cardboard bike box, with add-on options for larger bags), a warm post-ride meal at the finish line, and partner prize raffles.
