Lintas Borneo

The Lintas Borneo is Southeast Asia’s newest frontier in ultra-distance cycling — and the first ultracycling event to cross two countries, linking Indonesia and Malaysia through the deep interior of Borneo. This is not just a ride; it’s a rare cross-border gravel odyssey set in one of the planet’s most diverse, raw, and remote cycling landscapes.

Starting from Pontianak, the equatorial capital of West Kalimantan, riders will embark on a 1,530 km journey with over 13,500 meters of elevation gain. The route winds through dense rainforests, mountainous terrain, border towns, and coastal stretches — ultimately crossing into Malaysian Borneo before looping back to the finish. With a generous but demanding cutoff time of 156 hours (6 days), the ride is as much a mental and logistical challenge as it is a physical feat.

Riders must be entirely self-supported, carrying their gear, navigation tools, and personal supplies as they traverse everything from remote jungle gravel to long stretches of hot, exposed road. Water stops, resupply points, and check-ins are spaced strategically, but the core ethos of this ride is independence, endurance, and survival in the wild beauty of Borneo.

This event is more than a test of legs — it’s a cultural journey that unites two nations through cycling. Riders will pass through local villages, be welcomed by diverse ethnic communities, and witness the environmental contrasts of Borneo’s highlands, rivers, and forest corridors.

Whether you’re chasing a personal milestone, a qualifying ride, or simply drawn to the romance of a ride where the equator, jungle, and road converge, the Lintas Borneo is a true test of gravel grit, ultra-cycling determination, and cross-border adventure.

1,530 km. Two countries. One epic ride. Welcome to Borneo’s ultimate endurance challenge.
