The reward is a fast and challenging gravel descent down to Stony Creek. From Stony Creek, the course continues its mixed-terrain character. A gravel climb between miles 46 and 53 brings riders to Sites-Lagoda Road, followed by a paved descent. Here, a short but sharp 400-foot gravel climb provides one of the final challenges. With approximately 25 miles of gravel, including the notable Leesville-Lagoda and Huffmaster Roads, the route provides a full-value experience of this scenic and rolling terrain without the full mileage commitment of the longer loop.
