The Karukinka Gravel Race will take you to discover one of the least explored trails by humans in a pristine and pure natural environment such as the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego Island in the far south of Chile.
Tierra del Fuego is an area of great ecological importance, harbouring a great diversity of animal and plant species, many of which are endemic to the region. It is also an area of great historical and cultural importance, being home to diverse indigenous communities such as the Selk’nam, Haush and Yamana, who have inhabited the region for thousands of years.
The race takes place mainly on the Vicuña-Yendegaia Route, a road forged by the Military Labour Corps (CMT) which for years has been in charge of the construction of the land route that will link the Strait of Magellan with the Beagle Channel through Chilean national territory.
