Gravel Bru – Prince Albert, South Africa

  • Date: April 8-10, 2027

  • Location: Prince Albert, Western Cape, South Africa

  • Distances: 340 km over 3 stages

  • Event Type: Multi-day gravel stage race

Gravel Bru is a three-day, 340 km multi-day gravel cycling event organized by Dirty South Events, exploring the Karoo region and the Swartberg Pass in South Africa's Western Cape.

Stage 1 begins at the top of Swartberg Pass, rolling past Gamkaberg on a descent toward the host town of Calitzdorp. Stage 2 departs Calitzdorp through the gravel roads of the Nel's River Valley before riders reach the base of Swartberg Pass around the 50-kilometer mark. The route climbs the south side of the pass and finishes in Prince Albert, which serves as the host town for the remainder of the event. Stage 3, dubbed the Ronde Van Swartberg, loops through the Karoo before tackling the northern switchbacks of Swartberg Pass, with a mountain-top finish followed by a roll down to the Old Toll area.

Rider registration covers full medical support along the route, fully stocked water points, luggage transfers between host towns, an optional shuttle to the Day 1 start, lunch after each stage, breakfast on Day 2, a finisher's medal, and an event cap. Riders are responsible for booking their own accommodations in Calitzdorp and Prince Albert. For registrations and complete itinerary details, visit the official event website.
