This third edition, KGR2025, promises an immersive adventure into a territory rarely seen by human eyes. It’s an endeavour to share a landscape that has long held its secrets, now opening to a wider world.

The race navigates the Ruta Vicuña-Yendegaia, a path carved by the Military Work Corps. This route, a significant infrastructure project, connects the Strait of Magellan with the Beagle Channel through Chilean territory, offering a remarkable backdrop for gravel cycling.

Over five stages, covering approximately 440 kilometres with 5500 metres of ascent, the long December days in this southern land extend from early morning to late evening. Riders will encounter a diverse landscape, from vast pampas and indigenous forests to tranquil lakes and flowing rivers, all framed by some of the world's most southerly mountain passes.

The route traverses the comuna of Timaukel, moving from north to south across the expanse of the Province of Tierra del Fuego. Expect to ride through the plains of the pampas, ascend the Sierra Carmen Silva, and pass along the Río Grande plain, where the Patagonian steppe blends into forests, home to herds of guanacos. The journey continues through a lake district, showcasing Lago Lynch, Lago Escondido, Lago Blanco, and Lago Fagnano (Kami).

This experience is designed for disconnection, allowing the cycling passion to merge with the raw embrace of nature. Included are transfers from Punta Arenas to Tierra del Fuego, bag transport, and alimentation throughout the event, ensuring riders can focus entirely on the journey and camaraderie.
