Accessories & essentials

Small items decide how organised a long ride feels: secure bottle cages on rough roads, enough water capacity between refills, and packing cubes that keep a bag in order.

These are the accessories we have approved, from water bottles and cages to packing cubes and a folding bowl for camp.

All accessories & essentials

  • C.I.M. Bottle Cage — Enve Composites

A carbon-reinforced, injection-moulded bottle cage with full-contact rails and a tuned grip, made to stop bottles creeping out or ejecting on rough gravel and washboard.

  • SES Aero Carbon Bottle Cage — Enve Composites

A wind-tunnel-shaped carbon bottle cage designed to reduce the aerodynamic drag that bottles and cages add — a small gain on fast gravel races and long exposed stretches.

  • Sideload C.I.M. Bottle Cage — Enve Composites

A side-entry version of ENVE's C.I.M. cage for frames where bottles are hard to reach from above. Available in left- and right-hand versions.

  • Water Bottle — Enve Composites

A 22 oz (650 ml) ENVE-branded bike bottle. Simple and useful as an extra bottle when long gravel routes have few places to refill.

  • Folding-Bowl — Ortlieb

A collapsible bowl for washing up and laundry on multi-day trips that packs flat when empty. ORTLIEB notes it is not suitable for food or drinking water.

  • Packing Cube — Ortlieb

A padded packing cube with an inner compression strap and a built-in folding board, for keeping clothes tidy inside panniers or bags on longer trips.

  • Packing Cube Bundle — Ortlieb

Two packing cubes (6 and 12 litres) with folding boards plus a hanging toiletry bag — useful on bike trips that mix nights in tents and hotels.

  • Packing Cube Set — Ortlieb

Three stackable nylon inserts (two 6-litre, one 5-litre) for organising clothing, tools and toiletries inside ORTLIEB panniers and Bike-Packers.

What to look for

Plan water between refills

Check how far apart water stops are on your route and carry enough capacity for the longest gap.

Side-loading cages for small frames

Side-loading cages make it easier to reach a bottle when a frame bag fills most of the frame triangle.
