The Mane Event

The Mane Event Gravel Grinder is Sheridan, Wyoming’s fall gravel cycling event, presented by Wild Path Racing, LLC and held Saturday, September 19, 2026. Starting and finishing at the Koltiska Pumpkin Patch, 120 Cat Creek Rd. in Sheridan, riders roll into the open ranch roads, rolling hills, and foothill scenery east of town for a fully supported day on Wyoming gravel. Choose from four routes: 22, 32, 54, or 78 miles. The 22-mile route is a 100% unpaved out-and-back through ranch land, with 1,147 feet of climbing and an aid station near the halfway point. The new 32-mile route adds a bigger challenge, including the event’s “triple crown” climb, with 2,077 feet of ascent, about 73% gravel, and two aid stations. The 54-mile route features 3,188 feet of climbing, shorter punchy climbs, a long mid-route draw climb, and a fast, rewarding downhill stretch in the final miles. The 78-mile route is the long-course challenge, combining well-maintained county gravel roads, rolling terrain, short paved recovery sections, 4,105 feet of ascent, and five aid stations. This is a supported gravel ride/race with flaggers, aid stations, water, restrooms, first aid, snacks, electrolytes, downloadable GPX files, and sweeper support. Roads remain open to limited traffic, and helmets are required. Entry includes race participation, a T-shirt, meal ticket, and swag bag. The Mane Event is built for a wide range of riders: newer gravel riders looking for a scenic but real challenge, intermediate riders ready for climbs and mixed surfaces, and experienced racers who want a demanding fall route in North-Central Wyoming. The atmosphere is grassroots, welcoming, and community-focused, with proceeds supporting local nonprofits and a family-friendly start/finish venue at the pumpkin patch.
