Gravel Meeting – Coruche, Portugal

  • Date: 3–4 October 2026
  • Location: Coruche, Portugal
  • Distances: 140km, 80km, 30km
  • Event Type: Gravel Race

The Gravel Meeting is a gathering of riders in the heart of Portugal, a place to experience a memorable gravel race in Portugal. It is an exploration of the quiet landscapes where the Ribatejo and Alentejo regions meet. The event is founded on the simple joys of gravel riding: the sound of tyres on dirt, the feeling of wind on your face, and the rhythm of pedalling through a territory that feels untouched by time. The routes are designed to reveal the true character of gravel cycling in this part of the world.

The event unfolds over two days in early October. The weekend begins on Saturday with a casual 30-kilometre social ride, an open day designed to welcome participants and set a relaxed tone. This is followed by a Gravel Party, offering a chance for the community to connect before the main event. The atmosphere is one of shared experience, a meeting of body and soul, where the challenge is balanced with a sense of freedom and discovery. The focus is not just on the finish line, but on the journey itself.

Sunday is race day, presenting riders with a choice of two challenging distances for this semi-supported gravel race in Portugal. The longer 140-kilometre route features over 2000 metres of elevation gain, while the 80-kilometre option still offers a substantial test with more than 1000 metres of climbing. These routes have been exclusively designed for gravel bikes, promising a pure and engaging experience on the region's dirt roads and rolling hills. The format offers logistical support to ease the stress of a long ride.

The routes wind through forests of cork oaks, following dirt tracks that climb and descend in a constant, engaging rhythm. This is a landscape with exceptional conditions for gravel cycling, located just a few hours from major urban centres but feeling a world away. The courses for the Gravel Meeting traverse several municipalities in the region, showcasing the diverse and authentic character of the Iberian Peninsula. The event is intentionally limited to 200 participants to maintain an intimate atmosphere.

Based in Lamarosa, Coruche, the event is a celebration of the unique territory of Alentejo and Ribatejo. It's an invitation to explore a region where time seems to slow down, allowing for a deeper connection with the surroundings. The 'semi-autonomy' concept ensures riders have the necessary support to tackle the distances with peace of mind. After the ride, an After Race Party provides a space to share stories and celebrate the day’s accomplishments, closing out a memorable weekend of riding.

The Gravel Meeting is more than a race; it is an experience that blends sport, nature, and adventure. It’s an opportunity to feel each kilometre and create lasting memories on the bike. The essence of this event is found in the challenge and the liberty of exploring these beautiful Portuguese landscapes on two wheels.
