The Race Through Poland 2027 offers an immersive journey through the heart of Central and Eastern European mountain ranges. This No.8 edition presents two distinct endurance challenges: an 1800 km epic and a new 900 km format. Both routes share a common spirit, beginning in Nowy Targ, the gateway to the Carpathian mountains.
From Nowy Targ, riders venture into the Western Carpathians, greeted by scenic cycle routes, gravel sections, and quiet secondary roads. The landscape unfolds with impressive views of the High Tatras, punctuated by challenging climbs that lead across the border into Slovakia. Here, the Poprad Valley invites early strategic decisions on shaping one's route on this bikepacking race Poland.
The first control point, nestled in the quiet settlement of Kudłacze, serves as a crossroads of decisions. Five distinct parcours converge here, each revealing a different facet of the Beskids, a six-hundred-kilometre-long Carpathian range. Riders might encounter the remote Low Beskid, with its wild landscapes, or the gentle Poprad River Gorge, offering a brief respite before more climbing.
Further along, the second control point awaits at the summit of the White Carpathians, marking the western edge of the expansive mountain arc. This segment of the Race Through Poland leads through peaceful, rolling hills, ancient meadows, and forests, characteristic of the Biele Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. It is a region where the rhythm of nature guides the journey, rewarding thoughtful navigation with serene vistas.
The race then truly embraces its wild and untamed character as it ascends into the Western Tatras. Here, under the gaze of local wildlife, the route climbs into the Žiarska Valley, presenting a formidable test of endurance and spirit. The subsequent path south into the Low Tatras, a mountain range perhaps "low" only in name, forms a natural barrier designed to challenge both physical strength and mental resolve on this bikepacking race Poland.
Finally, the Volovec Mountains introduce a new territory. Despite their proximity to Košice, these mountains feel wonderfully remote, characterized by steep climbs and winding roads that highlight the unexpected closeness of wilderness to civilization. The parcours here begin near Kojšovská hoľa, offering sweeping panoramas and demanding strategic choices from each participant in the Race Through Poland.
Embrace the challenge and discover the intricate beauty of the region. For more information on this extraordinary venture, consult the official event website.
