Core4 is a multi-surface cycling event held around Solon and the Iowa City metro area. Named after its blend of four distinct terrains, the routes integrate gravel, Level B dirt roads, flowy singletrack, and pavement into varied loops.

The event offers multiple route distances to suit different riders and setups. The 120-mile course features approximately 6,000 feet of elevation gain and incorporates all four surfaces, including extensive stretches of singletrack. The mid-distance route covers roughly 60 to 70 miles with about 3,000 feet of elevation gain across all four surface types, hosting both open competition and a 60-mile USA Cycling Junior Gravel National Series wave. Shorter options include a 40-mile route with roughly 1,500 feet of climbing and a 20-mile route with approximately 1,000 feet of climbing, both of which bypass singletrack sections while retaining gravel, pavement, and B-roads.

Riders can participate solo or as part of three-person teams on the longer courses. Category options across the longer events include men, women, non-binary, fat bike, singlespeed, and age divisions. The event weekend begins on Main Street in Solon and includes pre-ride activities and post-event festivities with food, drinks, and music.
