The southermost gravel stage event in the world.
TIERRA DEL FUEGO GRAVEL RACE , is an experience designed to enjoy the roads, landscapes and the camaraderie of a competition designed in the total disconnection between your passion and nature. That is why the registration covers everything necessary so that you can only enjoy the competition. The basis of the competition is designed to sleep in your tents that will be transferred by the organization, but you can also opt for accommodation in hostels or cabins depending on the stage.
Tierra del Fuego Gravel Race will take you to discover one of the roads least explored by humans in a virgin and pure natural environment such as the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego Island.
Our main objective is that you go where very few have gone, in a territory that opens up to the world and reveals its hidden beauty and that has only been there for a few, but thanks to the efforts of pioneering people it will be, in the future, one one of the most emblematic tourist poles at the end of the world.
The race takes place mainly on the Vicuña-Yendegaia Route, a road forged by the Military Labor Corps (CMT) that for years has been in charge of building the land route that will link the Strait of Magellan with the Beagle Channel through territory Chilean national.,
The eternal days of December that begin at 04:00 am and end at 11:00 pm, will witness the effort of each one of the competitors in covering the route of about 400 kilometers between pampas, native forests, lakes, rivers and the two southernmost mountain passes in the world.
We tour the commune of Timaukel, located in the extreme south of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, from north to south, from the plains of the pampas through the Sierra Carmen Silva; the plain of the Rio Grande, a landscape that alternates between the Magellanic pampas and the first forests, where an important population of guanacos lives; the lake area, where Lake Lynch, Lake Escondido, Lake Blanco and Lake Fagnano (Kami) stand out.
