The first dirt road event of the year is L’Enfer du Nord. With an undisguised tribute to Paris-Roubaix, the real “hell in the north”, we cycle almost exclusively on dirt roads. Dirt road that with a wink to Paris-Roubaix contains 10 “secteurs”, sections with in this case spurs in the absence of cobblestones.
In Åby there is a bicycle shop for last-minute purchases, as well as Coop. Also patisserie and several restaurants. Because there are several of us out on the same round, there is companionship, support and encouragement along the way. I start last and make sure everyone gets home again.
