Grinduro, Italy

The beauty of Tuscany and the perfect party to race ratio, combine to create possibly the most unmissable cycle event of 2023!

In short, Grinduro Italy is just what the name suggests: gravel road race + mountain bike-style enduro = one long loop of pavement and dirt, where finishing times aren’t based on overall loop time, but four timed segments (each roughly five-to-ten minutes).

But Grinduro is not just a bike race. It’s a weekend long celebration of gravel cycling with as much emphasis on the fun as the ride, with excellent food, an impressive display of art, an incredible bike expo, live music, camping, and a festival atmosphere.

You will have the opportunity to ride alongside one of the most beautiful stretches of the Tuscan coast through a succession of breathtaking beauty between the blue of the sea and the green of the Mediterranean scrub. Nestled on the golden beach, you’ll have the opportunity to ride along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Tuscan coast through a succession of breathtaking beauty between the blue of the sea and the green of the Mediterranean scrub, up challenging gravel climbs and twisting roads, through picturesque villages, bays and headlands.

You will find it all too easy to forget the race and be distracted by the views before descending down some of the numerous MTB singletrack trails which make PuntAla a mecca for enduro mountain biking… but what they don’t know, the gravel riding is just as awesome!

This corner of Italy is known as Italy in Miniature,” with more than 100km of rugged coastline, atmospheric woodland, soaring peaks, historic Roman ruins and trails aplenty. The province of Grosseto is quickly becoming one of the Italy’s must ride destinations, with trails ranging from steep and technical to fast and flowing. In other words, it’s the perfect location to host Grinduro Italy.

Grinduro Italy will be based in the resort village of PuntAla in a beautiful sheltered bay that overlooks the majestic island of Elba. This is where it all happens, from the Bike and Art Gallery to the post-race music festival and party. This is also where the route departs from, a 100km adventure heading out on a mix of forest roads and singletrack trails that offer expansive vistas along the way. With 4 rowdy timed stages to race for the win thrown in along the way, Grinduro Italy will push your limits!
