Saturday is all about setting your own challenges on the Eroica CLASSIC routes, and enjoying the camaraderie of riding with friends and loved ones. Route distances range from about 40km to just over 90km. Our mid-route hub at Groenland Farm is where everyone can meet up at any time throughout the day.
John and Salma will be serving coffee and breakfast pastries as well as lunch, beers and their famous pomegranate gin coolers for our riders. The wonderful Two Dam trout sandwich stop is always a highlight for those wanting to ride a little further. All this is included in your entry.
For those of you who are taking on the longer challenges for today – our HERO and NOVA riders – have an early start. You will head up towards the smooth and fast roads above the famous Ouberg Pass, and be given a hearty welcome by our friends at Hoekom Farm Stall.
With our main Eroica South Africa hub being hosted at De Bos we encourage you to consider staying here. Our Saturday night Eroica market will be hosted underneath the pecan trees, and all the rides will depart from here. De Bos has camping spots and cottages available. There is limited availability for accommodation here, so book in advance.
Montagu has many other options to choose from. There are farm stays, like at our friends Groenland Farm and Two Dam, guest houses, self catering cottages, and of course the comfort of the various hotels in town too. Many of the accommodations are offering discounted stays especially for the Eroica South Africa family – more details to follow, but please enquire about this when you are booking.
