The Dunoon Dirt Dash invites riders to a journey through the Cowal Peninsula, near Glasgow, in the rugged embrace of Scotland. This two-day bikepacking experience is an exploration of quiet landscapes and some of Scotland’s compelling gravel trails. The event holds the rhythm of a shared adventure, moving through the wild beauty of Argyll.

The route unfolds over two days, designed for discovery rather than speed. Day one covers 65 kilometers with around 1,300 meters of climbing, leading cyclists deeper into the terrain. Day two offers 70 kilometers with approximately 1,000 meters of ascent, ensuring a steady engagement with the varied gradients. While some sections may present technical challenges, the route guides riders over a mix of singletrack, gravel paths, forestry roads, and quiet public roads, offering a diverse palette of surfaces under the tyres.

The weekend flow is centered around the communal experience. Starting and finishing at the Argyll Hotel, the event provides a base for gathering. An electronic route file assists with navigation, encouraging a self-supported approach to the open road. The heart of the experience is the overnight camp, situated approximately halfway along the route. Here, riders will find a space to pitch their tents, share an evening meal, and enjoy a nourishing breakfast, all within a chilled-out atmosphere designed for connection and rest.
