The Dorset Gravel Dash 50:50 offers a two-day bikepacking experience set amidst the varied landscapes of Dorset. This journey is designed as a self-supported reliability trial, inviting riders to navigate and connect with the terrain at their own pace, moving from a morning start in or near Swanage towards an overnight camp.

Over approximately 152 kilometers, with around 2,000 meters of climbing, the route guides riders over a mix of terrain. Expect to encounter the quiet flow of singletrack, the steady crunch of gravel paths, the solitude of forestry roads, as well as necessary stretches of public roads and cycle paths. The landscape calls for bikes equipped with at least 40mm tires, allowing for a comfortable rhythm across these diverse surfaces.

The rhythm of the event unfolds across two days, creating a shared experience rooted in simplicity and community. Riders begin their journey on Saturday, with navigation supported by provided GPX files. The day's ride culminates in a collective overnight camp, where basic necessities — a place to pitch a tent, toilets, and drinking water — are provided, alongside a warm evening meal and the gentle glow of a campfire.

Evenings at the camp are designed for connection, with straw bales for resting and ample opportunity to share stories under the night sky.
