Steppenwolf

Wild. Solidaric. Unsupported.

The Steppenwolf – this is bikepacking at its finest. This is a day in cobblestone hell. These are real challenges, open to everyone. These are wild paths through the steppe between Berlin and Usedom in spring and cobblestones in autumn.
Together we ride against our own limits and for a cycling sport that wants to be different: Not a toy for the rich, but wild, solidary and unsupported.

Unsupported bikepacking challenge since 2021 – 750 km/550 km

The Steppenwolf is a non-commercial, self-supported bikepacking challenge across the country from Berlin to Usedom and back. Full of variety between technical trails on the Oderbruch, the beach promenade of Usedom, some nasty cobblestone pieces, Brandenburg sand passages and several kilometers along Brandenburg lakes, it goes across the steppe. The technically and physically tough wild track is between 700 and 800 km long each year, the gravel track (formerly short track) rolls better and is 500-550 km long.

In between there are three checkpoints where inexperienced drivers can also set up camp. Whether alone or in a pack, to speed things up or as a personal challenge – the Steppenwolf is there for everyone. It is not a classic bike race, but a wild ride between the metropolis and the sea.
