Sneak Peaks

Europe’s Most Demanding Bikepacking Challenge

SNEAK PEAKS returns for its second year, cementing its reputation as Europe’s most grueling bikepacking event. Winding through the breathtaking landscapes of the Italian Dolomites and the higherst mountain ranges in Northern Italy (and Switzerland), SNEAK PEAKS offers an unparalleled adventure for those seeking to push their limits.

With three challenging distances – 490, 780, and 1.100 kilometers – participants have to pass 4, 8 and 12 mandatory checkpoints perched atop some of the most stunning mountain ranges, offer more than just breathtaking views; each is hosted by a Rifugio, where riders can recharge with authentic Italian delights like pasta, pizza, and espresso.

In its inaugural year, the event proved just how demanding it is—only a few riders managed to reach the finish line. Event creator Raphael Albrecht describes the ethos behind SNEAK PEAKS: “This isn’t about competition; it’s about camaraderie, resilience, and the love of adventure. Riders face the course, not each other, and the emphasis is on the journey rather than the results. While there’s no time limit, those who reach the finish line will be greeted with a special surprise.”

This year’s route maintains the brutal spirit of the event, featuring relentless climbs, remote military gravel paths, and a variety of terrain ranging from smooth tarmac to singletrack, and also some hike-a-bike sections. Riders with versatile “all-road” setups and adaptable mindsets will be best equipped to tackle the challenges ahead.

SNEAK PEAKS is more than a bikepacking challenge—it’s an unforgettable journey into the heart of the mountains, a test of endurance, and a celebration of the shared spirit of adventure.
Are you ready to join the ranks of those who dare to attempt Europe’s toughest bikepacking route? See you at the start line.
