Rough Road 100 Spring Classic Gravel Race

The Rough Road 100 is a classic spring gravel cycling event held in Morris, Illinois, offering an early-season test of endurance, speed, and grit. With a course that mixes smooth pavement and rough rural tracks, the event captures the spirit of the European Spring Classics — right in the heart of the American Midwest.

Riders can choose between two distances:

    • 100K Route – About 62 miles with roughly 63% pavement and 37% gravel, including fast flats, exposed farm roads, and punchy climbs

    • 64K Route – A 40-mile ride offering similar terrain on a slightly shorter loop, ideal for those newer to gravel or looking to build into the season

The race starts and finishes in downtown Morris, taking riders through scenic Illinois countryside, farmland, and historic canal trails. The route is well-marked and rider-friendly, with support at key intersections for safety and flow.

But Rough Road 100 is more than just a ride — it’s a celebration. The event features post-race awards, prize raffles, and community-focused energy that welcomes both competitive riders and gravel-curious cyclists. It also supports local charities, giving the ride purpose beyond the finish line.

Whether you’re chasing the podium, building base miles, or testing your legs for the first time on gravel, Rough Road 100 is where your season starts strong.

Fast, fun, and full of Midwest gravel soul — this is Rough Road 100.
