Pan Celtic Gravel Rally

    Date: May 1st – 4th, 2026
Location: Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Wales
Event Type: Unsupported Gravel & Bikepacking Race

    Event Description

The Pan Celtic Gravel Race – Eryri is a demanding unsupported gravel bikepacking challenge set entirely within Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), one of the wildest and most dramatic landscapes in Wales. Rooted in Celtic heritage and rugged mountain terrain, this event delivers a raw and immersive riding experience where nature, endurance, and self-reliance take centre stage.

The route winds through the heart of Eryri, linking remote gravel tracks, ancient mountain roads, forest lanes, and exposed highland passes. Riders can expect steep climbs, rough surfaces, and constantly changing conditions — from fast valley gravel to rocky ascents and weather-beaten ridgelines. This is a landscape that demands respect, preparation, and smart decision-making.

Run as a fixed-route, unsupported race, the Pan Celtic Gravel Race follows true bikepacking principles. Riders carry their own gear, manage food and water, navigate using GPS, and decide when and where to rest. There are no support crews and no staged finishes — once the clock starts, it does not stop.

Eryri’s geography defines the challenge. Sharp elevation changes, narrow mountain passes, and remote valleys test both physical endurance and mental resilience. Weather can shift quickly, adding another layer of complexity to an already demanding route. This is a race for experienced gravel and bikepacking riders who are comfortable operating in mountainous terrain.

Beyond the challenge, the Pan Celtic Gravel Race offers deep immersion in place. The route passes through landscapes shaped by centuries of Welsh history — stone walls, abandoned quarries, ancient paths, and small communities set beneath towering peaks. Every kilometre reinforces the connection between land, culture, and effort.

The Pan Celtic Gravel Race – Eryri is not about spectacle or crowds. It’s about solitude, focus, and the quiet satisfaction of moving through a powerful landscape under your own power.

Pan Celtic Gravel Race – Eryri: steep climbs, wild gravel, and a true mountain bikepacking test in the heart of Wales.
