Explore Switzerland’s hidden gems on gravel! The OnGravel Checkpoint Challenge takes you to four scenic lookout towers across the cantons of Aargau, Bern, Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn. Ride the 210 km route with over 4,000 m of elevation – or complete the checkpoints at your own pace.
The OnGravel Checkpoint Challenge invites gravel cyclists to explore the stunning backroads and forest trails of northwestern Switzerland. Between May and October, riders visit four scenic observation towers across the cantons of Aargau, Solothurn, Basel-Landschaft, and Bern.
Each tower features a QR code to scan, logging your visit as you progress through the challenge. You choose the route, ride in any order, and go at your own pace—making this a flexible and personal gravel adventure. Whether you complete one tower or all four, the journey is about exploration, not racing.
Visit at least two towers and earn a free coffee at one of the event’s partner cafés. Complete all four to be entered into a prize draw for gravel gear and share your ride with the growing gravel community.
This is a celebration of self-powered discovery—through forests, over hills, and across some of the most peaceful gravel terrain in Switzerland.
