M&M Gravel Grinder – Ride Through Catalonia’s Wild Beauty
The M&M Gravel Grinder is a premier gravel cycling adventure set in the scenic region of Santa Susanna, in Maresme, Catalunya. This unique event invites riders to explore the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Montnegre i Corredor and Montseny Natural Parks, combining endurance, exploration, and a strong connection to nature.
Structured as a non-competitive challenge, the M&M Gravel Grinder emphasizes personal accomplishment, environmental respect, and community spirit. Participants can choose from three route options—85 km, 120 km, and a demanding 200 km route with up to 5,000 meters of elevation gain. The event is fully GPS-guided, and the routes are not physically marked, encouraging riders to rely on their navigation skills. Those taking on the 200 km challenge are also equipped with geolocator tracking for added safety and event support.
Riders begin their experience with check-in at the vibrant M&M Village, where the atmosphere starts building well before the first pedal stroke. The event kicks off early with staggered departures for the various distances. Along the 200 km route, cyclists will find four food and hydration checkpoints placed at key intervals—ideal for rest, nourishment, and connection with fellow participants.
After the ride, the celebration continues with the M&M Gravel Grinder Party—a gathering that caps off the day with good food, music, and shared stories from the trail.
To participate, riders must be equipped with front and rear lights, a mobile phone, and a gravel or off-road-capable bike with tires between 37 mm and 42 mm. All participants receive a GPS track for navigation and a geolocator device. While the ride is self-guided, support is available throughout the course, and information on route exits and transport options is provided in case a rider needs to abandon the route. All cyclists are expected to follow traffic regulations and respect the natural environment at all times.
The M&M Gravel Grinder offers more than a cycling event—it’s a deep dive into the raw beauty of Catalonia, a test of stamina and self-reliance, and a celebration of the gravel cycling community. Whether you’re pushing your limits or simply riding to enjoy the journey, this experience promises unforgettable moments on two wheels.
