Event Description
The GRAVEL MEETING® is more than a ride—it’s a dialogue between cyclist and landscape, between body and soul, between challenge and freedom. Set in the timeless regions of Ribatejo and Alentejo, this gravel adventure captures the essence of southern Portugal’s open horizons, where the rhythm of the land shapes every pedal stroke.
Riders traverse dirt roads that wind through ancient cork oak forests, past olive groves, rolling plains, and sleepy villages where life moves at its own pace. Each climb and descent reveals new textures of the landscape: red earth, golden light, and the scent of eucalyptus carried on the wind. The experience is raw and grounding—a true return to what cycling is meant to be.
The GRAVEL MEETING® offers two route options, each designed to test endurance while keeping the adventure spirit alive. Riders navigate using GPS in a semi-autonomous format, managing their own pace, nutrition, and strategy along the way. Support is minimal but thoughtfully placed, ensuring a balance between independence and safety.
The event’s philosophy centers on connection—to the terrain, to oneself, and to the community of riders who share the same passion for discovery. Evenings at basecamp are filled with food, conversation, and a sense of shared accomplishment that only comes from long days on the road.
In Ribatejo and Alentejo, time slows, and authenticity endures. The GRAVEL MEETING® embraces this spirit—inviting every participant to find meaning in the movement, beauty in simplicity, and strength in perseverance.
The GRAVEL MEETING® — ride the land, breathe the silence, and discover gravel’s true essence in Portugal’s heartland.
