Event Description
Gravel du Lion is a gravel cycling adventure set in the scenic landscapes of the Territoire de Belfort, a region known for its dense forests, quiet countryside, and hidden trail networks. Starting from the historic city of Belfort, the event invites riders to explore lesser-known gravel routes in northeastern France through a series of carefully designed loops.
The event is non-competitive and self-paced, making it accessible to a wide range of riders. Participants can choose from six distances, ranging from a relaxed 30 km introduction to the full 150 km endurance challenge. Each route is designed to showcase the diversity of the region, combining forest tracks, open fields, rolling gravel roads, and scenic backcountry paths.
All routes are navigated using GPX files, allowing riders to ride freely at their own pace while enjoying a structured and well-marked experience. The courses radiate from a central hub in Bourogne, forming interconnected loops that gradually lead riders deeper into the surrounding landscapes as distances increase.
Gravel du Lion is about exploration, enjoyment, and connection to the land. There are no rankings or results, only the satisfaction of completing a chosen route and discovering new terrain. Whether riding the shorter loops or tackling the legendary long distance, riders are rewarded with ever-changing scenery and a true sense of adventure.
Designed for gravel bikes but equally suitable for adventure-oriented setups, Gravel du Lion balances accessibility with challenge, offering something for both newcomers and experienced gravel riders.
Gravel du Lion — ride hidden trails, explore the Territoire de Belfort, and experience gravel in its purest form.
