Gravel Challenge Blåvandshuk is a historic event, as it will be the first danish UCI Gravel World Series race, which gives qualification points to the Gravel World Championships.
Gravel is rapidly growing as a discipline these years and we want to make sure that Denmark will be a part of it.
The 110km. distance will take you through some of the most beautiful, and tough areas around Blaavandshuk.
You will experience all kinds of gravel, from very big and wide gravel roads to the more narrow farmer roads. A big part of the area is owned by the danish military and is normally used by the military forces to train their soldiers. So you will see a lot of rough and wild nature, military signs, and equipment along the course. Some of the gravel roads can be pretty soft because the army has to maintain them often.
Although the course does not offer that many altitude meters, you are up for a challenging day on the bike!
If you’re aiming to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championship and you’re in the age group 60+ for men or 50+ for women this is the distance.
If your motivation for participating in the event isn’t a qualification for the UCI Gravel World Championship you can choose between the distances.
