Gravel & Flannel is a three-day gravel cycling festival held at the award-winning Holy Red Deer Estate in Esk. Blending scenic riding, community vibes, and festival delights, this event brings riders, friends, and family together for an immersive gravel celebration.
The festival features three supported gravel rides on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, offering route options (typically 38 km, 65 km, and 90 km depending on the day). Out-and-back rides cater to all abilities and are perfect for exploration and community connection. Each morning includes breakfast and coffee, plus a casual sausage sizzle on Sunday for lunch.
Riders and non-riders enjoy a packed schedule of live music, food and beverage vendors, Curve demo bikes, fire pits, and interactive bike workshops covering maintenance, bikepacking basics, and more. The atmosphere blends laid-back hospitality with adventure and excitement, making it ideal for families and seasoned riders alike.
Three nights of entertainment include Friday’s famous pizza party, Saturday evening beer tent and music, and Sunday live entertainment to cap off the weekend. A curated swag bag is included with every rider ticket, along with entry into prize draws—including a limited Curve Titanium GRX frame giveaway.
With the venue’s charming rural setting and direct access to the BVRT, Gravel & Flannel transforms a weekend of riding into a full-blown outdoor festival experience—great for first-timers, die-hards, and communities of every stripe.
