GRAVALLO—short for “Gravel in the Mühlviertel”—is a non-competitive, self-supported gravel ride event inviting cyclists to explore the scenic landscapes north of Linz. The event launches from the historic Tabakfabrik Linz (U2 entrance), where riders gather for the start and return for a vibrant after-ride festival featuring food, drinks, and community connection.
Three route options cater to different levels of ambition: a challenging 85 km core loop, a 109 km Grand Fondo, and a bold Overnighter (200 km) that starts Friday, with pre-arranged camping at the Moldau reservoir—including showers, a bistro, and lakeside access for up to 70 participants.
Participants ride a varied mix of gravel, forest, field paths, and longer paved stretches through picturesque terrain in the Mühlviertel region—and parts of Czechia—embracing a ride purely powered by muscle and spirit, with MTB bikes welcome.
The festival area at Tabakfabrik Linz hosts service zones including a mobile workshop, recovery food and drinks, and a lively expo. Checkpoints along the course offer riders opportunities to collect stamps for a tombola entry, with the grand prize being a custom hand-built Granite-X titanium gravel frame set.
With its blend of solo challenge and collective energy, local hospitality, and no-pressure format, GRAVALLO stands out as a must-ride gravel event in Central Europe.
