Event Description
Big Red Gravel Run (BRGR) is a classic Canadian gravel weekender built around one simple idea: ride hard, camp out, and celebrate together. Set in Harrington, Québec, the event follows the rugged backroads and riverside tracks of the Rouge River region—where red sandbanks, wooded valleys, and quiet dirt roads create a playground for gravel riders who want both challenge and atmosphere.
Two routes define the experience. Big Red is the main course at roughly 130 km, delivering the “full monty” of local terrain: flowing gravel, long dirt-road sectors, and technical sections that add variety and bite. Little Red, at around 60 km, is the shorter option—still adventurous, still scenic, and ideal for riders who want a big day without committing to the longest distance.
BRGR is known for its raw, wild feel: mixed surfaces, spotty cell reception in places, and the kind of riding that rewards preparation and self-reliance. Navigation matters—riders are encouraged to use a GPS device even though the course is marked—so the focus stays on riding, pacing, and soaking up the landscape.
The weekend spirit is as important as the route. Basecamp energy, camping, shared stories, and a proper post-ride celebration with BBQ and live music make this more than a ride—it’s a gravel gathering. It’s the kind of event that feels like a tradition the moment you arrive.
Big Red Gravel Run — bike, camp, repeat. A Québec gravel classic on the wild edges of the Rouge River.
