The Aurora Gravel Portugal Rally delivers a five-day gravel immersion set against the dramatic backdrop of Southern Portugal’s Algarve region. Starting with a high-energy prologue on the Portimão rally car circuit, the event unfolds through four thoughtfully designed stages radiating out from the central Algarve Race Resort.
Riders travel 415 km through diverse terrain—ranging from smooth, sweeping gravel trails to rugged forest tracks, past terraced vineyards, and alongside dazzling Atlantic cliffs. Each stage offers landscapes that shift from mountain paths over the Serra de Monchique to coastal gravel routes and hidden village roads, culminating in a true gravel odyssey.
As a rally-style event, only selected segments are timed, allowing riders to push in competitive zones while enjoying recovery and camaraderie during connections. With approximately 6,556 meters of climbing across the course, including a demanding Queen Stage eastwards through quaint villages, this rally balances physical challenge with cultural discovery.
Evenings ring to life at the central basecamp, where local food, refreshments, and celebration await alongside fellow riders. The intimate field—capped at 200 participants—ensures a close-knit, communal feel with ample room for both performance and pleasure.
