2-Continents Adventure

    2-Continents-adventure

Traversing the Iberian Peninsula from Irun, at the Bay of Biscay, to Sidi Ifni on Morocco’s Atlantic coast.

The 2-Continents Adventure is not just a bikepacking challenge—it is a rare journey that connects two worlds. Starting at the Atlantic shoreline of Irun in northern Spain, riders set off across the entire Iberian Peninsula before crossing into Africa, finishing in the remote coastal town of Sidi Ifni in southern Morocco. It is a route that spans cultures, languages, climates, altitudes, and histories, threaded together by one continuous line of human-powered travel.

This is a single-stage, self-supported, fully unsupported bikepacking event, demanding complete autonomy from start to finish. Riders must manage their own food, rest, repairs, navigation, and logistics as they move across borders and landscapes that shift dramatically from one region to the next.

    A Journey Across Two Worlds

The adventure begins in Europe, rolling through the northern spine of Spain and into the heart of the Iberian Peninsula. Depending on the chosen format, riders can follow:

The gravel/piste route: primarily unpaved, linking forest paths, rural tracks, remote mountain roads, and wild highlands.

The all-road route: fully paved and centered around long days on quiet backroads, culminating in the ascent of Pico Veleta (3,398 m)—the highest paved road in Europe and an iconic milestone of the entire journey.

From Spain, the route pushes south, eventually crossing the Strait of Gibraltar, where the terrain transforms instantly. The African section of the 2-Continents Adventure cuts across Morocco’s Anti-Atlas, arid plateaus, deep valleys, isolated villages, and stretches of Sahara-bordering desert—places where resupply is sparse, heat is intense, and the vastness of the landscape demands respect.

    Rare, Real, and Ruthless

Since its first edition in 2021, only eight riders have ever started this challenge. To date, only one rider— Irena Sosinska—has successfully reached Sidi Ifni, completing the gravel/piste route and proving what is possible with absolute determination.

It is considered by many to be one of the hardest bikepacking adventures in the world, not because of technical difficulty alone, but because of the relentless combination of distance, exposure, weather, logistics, isolation, and the psychological weight of crossing an entire continent—and then another.

    What to Expect

A transcontinental line from Europe to Africa

Major climatic shifts: Atlantic winds, Iberian heat, mountain chill, desert extremes

Navigation on your own, with no support or external assistance

Long remote sections requiring planning, efficiency, and resilience

Cultural immersion through Spanish villages, Moroccan markets, Berber landscapes, and silent desert expanses

The 2-Continents Adventure is a test of endurance, preparation, and mental clarity—an odyssey for riders who want to experience the world not from above, but through every kilometer and every contour of the land.

Two continents. Two climates. Two worlds. One continuous ride from Europe to Africa.
